Brother Marcel BAKOMA, ofm returns to the home of the Father

The Order of Friars Minor, and in  particular the African Franciscan Conference, has just lost its African Provincial, Brother Marcel, who  passed away on 11th / 11 /, 2015. Brother Marcel BAKOMA, had been  provincial of the Incarnate Word Province that comprises the following countries: Togo; Ivory Coast, Benin, Ghana, Burkina Faso.

Brother Marcel Bakoma had also been President of the African Franciscan Conference for several years for which he rendered good services as he also did  for  his Province.

Here the message of Brother Nicodemus Kibuzehose, OFM, Definitor for Africa, who announced the sad news:

"Dear brother leaders of the African Conference;
may the Lord give you peace ....

About an hour ago, we learned of the death of our brother Marcel Bakoma, OFM Minister Provincial of the Province of the Incarnate Word. Brother Marcel died today in an automobile accident.  He was in the  Ivory Coast for the canonical visitation of the Fraternities on his way to Yamoussoukro for the visit. He died before arriving at the brothers.

Pray for him; for the brothers of the Province and for his family.

• The Secretariat of the African Franciscan Missions and Evangelism Conference, presents its deepest condolences to the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor and to all the brothers of the Province of the Incarnate Word for the disappearance of Brother Marcel Bakoma. May Brother Marcel Bakoma who has now met sister death find rest in God the Father.
